| Description: | Storage Strategies, Inc. (SSI) is seeking a data storage engineer with expertise with Veritas Netbackup and UNIX operating system. Successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating of data center backup schedules, engineering the upgrade of existing back up infrastructure to support expanding data center infrastructure. Performs other duties as assigned. |
| Required Education: | Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's or Associates degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline. A combination of progressive IT experience and data storage management and engineering is also acceptable. |
| Required Experience: | Minimum of one to three years experience in an IT data center performing data management / engineering (backup, data provisioning, SAN management). Expertise with Veritas Netbackup and UNIX operating system required. Candidates must have excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be familiar with Visio, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.). Familiarity with a fibre channel protocol, SAN fabric management, and disaster recovery planning. |
