| Duties and Responsibilities: |
This position will be responsible for managing data storage for a complex system of networked computers and mainframe. Responsibilities include system security and data integrity. Position assigns passwords, monitors resource usage, and backs up data. Position will provide technical guidance to lesser-experienced administrators. Duties include:
- Daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and manage Microsoft WSUS servers.
- Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
- Implement security policies and perform security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Install and maintain Microsoft DNS, DFS, and DHCP.
- Install and manage MS Terminal Services with a focus on Microsoft licensing technologies.
- Available for on-call status, which may require after hours and weekend support.

| Essential Skills and Experience: |
- Thorough knowledge of MS Windows OS
|
| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline (or equivalent such as certifications in systems administration or network administration) and three to five years of related experience.
- A+ certification and a minimum of MCSA 2003.
- US Citizenship
- Secret clearance must be obtainable

- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Technologies, DNS, IP subnetting, SNMP, Microsoft Office, Remedy Action Request System, Microsoft Terminal Services, hardware RAID configurations, SAN and NAS, and DoD security standards
